Your conversations, written down.
Orlaeg is an Android app that records the conversations you choose to record, turns them into a transcript with the speakers named, and keeps everything in your own Google Drive.
What it does
- Records with your phone’s microphones. It can listen for a conversation and start and stop by itself.
- Copies recordings from external recorders: a Pocket recorder over Bluetooth, and recorders plugged into the phone’s USB port. More kinds are added as they are supported.
- Uploads the recordings to a folder in your Google Drive. The app sees only the files it makes there.
- Writes a transcript in the language people speak, including conversations that switch between languages. It tells the speakers apart and learns the names you give them across recordings.
- Tags every recording: a real conversation, or media such as a TV or video picked up in the background. You can retag, make your own tags, and each choice teaches it.
- Suggests a title, a summary and action items, and lets you search and ask questions about what was said.
Coming next: alerts
Tell Orlaeg a situation to watch for, in plain words: a promise or a deadline, a topic, a particular person speaking. It follows the conversation as it is recorded and notifies you when the situation happens, with the line that triggered it.
The name
Orlæg
In Old English, “what has been laid down originally”: the ground everything else rests on. For Orlaeg that is your conversations, recorded once and kept as you made them.
Your data
Recordings and transcripts belong to you. They are stored in your Google Drive, not in an account with us. You can see exactly what Orlaeg does with them in the privacy policy.

Orlaeg is in private beta, for invited people only. Questions: [email protected].
